ORDER NO. 2007-0401
Emergency Closure of a portion of the Osceola National Forest due to Extreme Fire Conditions
Pursuant to Title 36 C.F.R., Section 261.50(a) and (b), the following act is prohibited within approximately 142 thousand acres of the Osceola National Forest as shown on the attached map. This Order is in effect from May 11, 2007 until the order is officially terminated by the Forest Supervisor.
For the protection of public safety and health it is prohibited to go into or be upon the Osceola National Forest north of interstate 10. 36 CFR 261.53(e)
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. 261.50(e) the following persons are exempt from the above Prohibitions:
1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or          Â
                omission.

2. Any Federal, State, of local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire
fighting force in the performance of their official duty.
This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

Violations of the above prohibition set forth, are punishable by fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual and $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than (6) six months, or both. See 16 U.S.C. 551, 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571.
