Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway Designation Approved
The Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway - SR 40 between Silver Springs and Ormond Beach, which the Florida Trail crosses in two places within the Ocala National Forest - received its official state Scenic Highway designation on February 20, 2008 by the Florida Scenic Highways Program’s Scenic Highways Advisory Committee (SHAC).
