Heartland assists Lake Alfred effort

According to the Lakeland Ledger, volunteers from the Heartland Chapter have been building hiking trails at Lake Alfred’s own Mackay Gardens and Lakeside Preserve. It is not yet open to the public but is an important part of Florida history as a preserved part of the Mackay family estate, La Rochelle, dating back to 1915.
